A well known feline friend who set up home at one of Cornwall’s leading sustainable businesses has gone to the great scrap yard in the sky.
Woolly the cat, who lived at St Austell-based scrap metal dealers Henry Orchard and Sons, passed away on Wednesday (October, 9).
Henry Orchard, managing director of Henry Orchard and Sons, said: “It was a sad day for us when Woolly left us.
“We are a family business and have been since my grandfather set up the company in 1947. Woolly has been a big part of the family for a long time.
“The office won’t be the same without him, although there were several occasions were he seemed to think he was running the business.
“There are probably a few reps out there who can breath a sigh of relief next time they visit us as they often found themselves on the wrong side of Woolly and his claws!”
Henry Orchard and Sons is commited to meeting environmental standards within the metal reclamation industry, and this commitment drives every area of our business. The company continues to advance methods in which scrap metal and other waste products can be re-used and recycled. This minimises waste products going to landfill and lessens the impact on the environment.
